Lessons begin September 8th and continue through May 14th

LESSONS:  Piano lessons are 30 minutes, 45 minutes or 1 hour once a week. Each student will receive an additional 15 minutes of midi lab time with each lesson.  Private, overlapping or partner lessons are offered.

TUITION: Tuition is due and expected at the first lesson of each new month.  Tuition for thirty minute lessons is $585.00 for the school year, divided into 9 equal payments of $65.00 per month. Tuition for forty-five minutes lessons is $877.50 for the school year divided into 9 equal payments of $97.50 per month. There will be a $10.00 late fee for tuition not paid by the 10th of the month.

ABSENCES:  Tuition for absences will not be refunded. A missed lesson is still purchased teaching time for which payment is due. Lessons missed by the student will not be made up due to strict scheduling. You have my permission to switch lessons with another student. Please notify me if you are unable to attend.  In the case that I have to miss a lesson, the lesson will be made up.  I miss, I pay. You miss, you pay.

TERMINATION OF LESSONS:  Students are expected to complete the school year. A notice of a minimum of one month is required when terminating lessons.  I shall be compelled to terminate lessons when a student is irregular in attendance, repeatedly fails to prepare assigned material, is uncooperative, repeatedly late payments,  or in breech of studio policy contract.

DEPOSIT:   A $125.00 deposit is required of every student for the school year, due June 1st.  The deposit is designed to avoid additional monthly charges, is used for all student activities and confirms the students place in scheduling. Any remaining monies will be credited to the following year. Any negative balances will be settled in May. The deposit is non refundable.

STUDENTS RESPONSIBILITIES:  Students are responsible for arriving on time with ALL music, materials and completed assignments. Students are expected to practice every day!  Practice is the key to progress.  Recommended practice times are as follows. 1st-3rd grade 30 minutes, 4th-7th grade 45 minutes, 8th-9th grade 1 hour, 10th-12 grade 1 ½ hours. Students should practice each day until each assignment goal is met. Students are required to participate in theory test, Ensemble Festival, Christmas Party, Springer-Manly Music Festival, National Guild Auditions and The Spring Awards Recital.

PARENTS RESPONSIBILITIES:  Parents are encouraged to attend lessons.  Parents should schedule a regular daily practice routine and enforce it.  Please check the assignment book to see that assignments have been completed.  Goals for the course of study can not be met with out consistent daily practice.  Please be punctual about arrival and pick up as we are on a tight schedule. It is not fair to other students for their lesson time to be interrupted or delayed.

TEACHER RESPONSIBILITIES: I will provide learning activities, performance opportunities and access to adjudicated events in many settings. These events provide practice incentives, and the evaluation of musical growth and progress.  I will make every effort to keep learning fun and provide goals for practice.  I strive to keep up with technology in the studio and further my teaching skills through continued education.  I will provide 2 or 3 group lessons per year in lieu of the private lessons to allow a social interaction among students to provide exposure to different learning styles and musical styles, theory pre-tests and to build confidence in performing for peers.
